I carry the blood of my enemies
It runs deep through my veins
I carry the sin of my fathers
The darkness there fills me with shame
My cries to the Lord have been many
To take this torment away
It’s then that He thunders a whisper
To quiet my anxious refrain
For I carry the blood of the Father
He’s not made of flesh or bone
He chose me to join in His family
A kingdom of treasures untold
He calls me from penance to presence
Where my spirit can rest and be known
He heals all my broken places
I am seen
I finally belong
